A really good Open Stake in a fair wind on the first day and a mainly gentle breeze on the second day making for good shooting and challenging retrieves, held at Park Farm on the first day and at Holy Oaks on the second day at Nevill Holt - on a variety of grounds, mainly walked-up mixed with mini drives. There was a great and friendly atmosphere throughout the two days.
Many thanks to the judges - you were great company and gave everyone a fair crack of the whip. The judges kept the trial flowing really well and received a lot of praise from all. Thanks also to the Guns who shot safe and well.

A really good Novice Stake held today at Nevill Holt on a variety of grounds walked-up as well as driven. A great shooting day with a good wind where two dogs made it to the end of the day. The guns were shooting well and game was really well presented. Great atmosphere and good company. A lovely but to begin with wet day with challenges for both dogs and guns.

LEICESTERSHIRE GUNDOG SOCIETY 16 DOG AV RETRIEVER All Aged Stake at The Rambank Club Syndicate Shoot, Creeton, Notts. 28th January 2023.

Judges: Steve Polley, Linda Partridge, Robert Cresswell & Craig Jackson. The society was fortunate to come back to Creeton for our All Aged Stake this season and Head Keeper Tom Dyer showed plenty of strong well flying birds. The Trial was run as a mix of walked-up and driven and the guns shot well and safe. We all met up for the awards at the meet by the end of the day where most of the competitors stayed for a well deserved few snacks, cake and hot drinks. We are really grateful to The Rambank Syndicate and hope there will be a chance of coming back to Creeton another year.
A really good All Aged Stake on a mild day with a gentle breeze on a variety of undulated ground - open and woodland - and with a few obstacles and where the whole day had to be used to produce a sufficient number of birds to test the dogs. This mainly due to a high standard of dog work - see the results!
A great shooting day where six dogs made it to the end of the day. The judging was positive and a fine display in teamwork and good communication between the two ends of the line as they quite often couldn't see each other due to the features of the ground. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day. It was really nice to see so many people - including all the guns and helpers - stay for the awards.
